Change

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted, although i'm not sure if anyone is actually reading.  I've been busy trying to decide if I want to accept a new job offer, doing paperwork for the new job and then telling my old job that i'm leaving.  That was one of the hardest thing's I've had to do...  tell an amazing boss and doctor that I'm leaving him.  I feel really bad about it, he really relies on me, a lot, but i'm pretty sure that this new job will be better for our family right now.  I think that he understands, but I still feel bad about leaving him.
Come August, I will be working for North Shore University Health Systems and I will probably work three, 12 hour shifts.  I will round on the hospital patients and assist in surgeries.  The co-workers that I met on my interview seem so nice and the lead PA is a previous co-worker of mine.  He is a really nice guy and awesome family-man so i'm sure it is going to work out well.  I'm so excited to have some extra time during the week!!  I think that I'm most excited to do a little laundry and grocery shopping during the week so I can have my weekends all to myself and my family.
But, wow, change is hard.  I find myself already anxious about a new start...  where do i put my purse, what do I wear, what will the doctors be like and I'll be starting from scratch to earn the respect of the physicians and other hospital staff.   Then, I still have to finish telling everyone at my work and continue on for several more months with hopefully minimal harassment.  One. Day. At. A. Time.

  1. Change is really hard, even if its for happy reasons. That security you've had is gone. But you will do fine, I'm sure and you'll be in the swing of things before you know it!
